My Children

I’m straight, and have a 6 year old step-daughter and a 1 1/2 year old daughter. I’m not the best parent on earth, but I try.

This is why I give a damn. Everyone deserves the right to raise a child, to have the simple joy of watching their child grow.

There are thousands of children in the adoption system that deserve a kind, loving home. It shouldn’t matter if the child is going to have two mommies or two daddies. As long as the parents love and care for him/her, that is what’s important.

There are parents out there who don’t love or care for their child. Parents that should have given their children up for adoption, but didn’t.

If a person like that can have a child, then why can’t a loving couple, who want nothing more than the simple joy of being parents, have the option too?

I give a damn because everyone deserves to be a parent, and if one or both of my children grow up and find that they are lesbian(s), they deserve to be mothers, too.
