Taunting Times
I have always been, a little different then everyone. There is no denying that. And for the longest time I didn’t care, as a kid.
But as I got older, I realized that kids, are harsh, and cruel. I would just walk by a group of people, and I would hear “FAGGOT,” “QUEER,” “FUCKING DIE,” and that was on any given day. I remember, when I was 13, I almost took my life, because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was in the school bathroom, about to slit my wrists, when a student barged in on me, and literally saved my life without knowing it. I will be ever grateful to him.
All through my schooling I had to deal with it. But now, I get people that I went to school with coming up to me and apologizing for the things they said or did to me in school. It is amazing.
But, no teen should have to deal with that at all. They also need to know that they aren’t alone out there, there are many kids and adults here for them. I wish I knew that when I was in school.
My name is Danny from Hawaii. I’m gay and I give a damn!
