Afraid To Come Out…

I’m a bisexual teen and I’m terrified to come out to my parents because my father is extremely homophobic. He constantly makes jokes about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and doesn’t realize how much it bugs me when I ask him to stop.

He continues with the jokes, yet when someone calls him homophobic he denies it and says he has gay friends when he doesn’t, they are my mother’s friends. He often cracks the joke that anybody I happen to like must be gay and has told me I can go lesbian because he refuses to accept the fact that his baby girl is growing up.

I give a damn because I am tired of the hate and hiding who I am from my parents simply because my father is homophobic.
