Two Rings, One Unity
I am a very lucky man. I have a husband that sincerely loves me in all aspects of our lives. We have been together for 11 years on Nov 5, 2010. We have been in a Civil Union and as of Sept 6, 2009 we are married. We live in the very beautiful and tolerant state of Vermont. We are a family, with all the usual ties in a marriage, i.e. mortgage, car payments, the whole thing.
But, what is more special is that we are foster parents. We have been foster parents for 8 years I think. It breaks my heart to see kids in Vermont that are so broken, they think there is no way out for them. Harming themselves, tried suicides, withdrawl, not trusting is the life they know.
We as foster parents bring into their lives, LOVE, UNDERSTANDING AND RESPECT. Most of what they are looking for is love without abuse. In time, everything else over time comes into place.
I would like to encourage anyone that has the time, love and patience to become foster parents.Love and hugs to you all AND I DO GIVE A DAMN!
