Equality

So I’m not sure where to start… My name is Brian and I’m a straight man, and I give a damn. I have a wonderful family. I believe everyone should enjoy the same benefits, period. We were all born into this world the same way. There is no amount of money; no difference of color, creed, or religion that changes that or makes us any better of a person. Equality is the answer.

I’ve always been sympathetic to the cause. However, when the news highlighted those recent teen suicides, it broke my heart. It was like a wake up call. Shortly there after, I made a decision that I wanted to fight for what’s right. I’m in this for life. As I’ve learned since then, teens, and adults alike, take cues from the government in treating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people like second class citizens. How can we expect to fight bullying and hate crimes when those who commit such heinous acts feel justified in doing so? It’s going to take the government changing their ways for what’s important, equality.

I’m learning as I go, but with your help, and the help of others, I want to be as influental as I can. Good luck to everyone and lets to this damn thing.
