When I ultimately decided no more

It was the Sunday after the Supreme Court struck down DOMA and California’s prop 8. I had to go to Nation Of Islam mosque with my mother since I lived under her roof. The minister had harped on the Trayvon Martin case, but then hopped on the gay bashing train with rants about Allah destroying Sodom and Gomorrah for condoning homosexuality. Now, I had heard it many times prior to that, but this time, I felt different. I had the temerity to think that Allah was dead wrong for that, and was highly petty.
