How Big Is Your Bubble?

You can think of privilege as a bubble. Picture Jake Gyllenhaal in "Bubble Boy" – or, if you prefer the classics, John Travolta in "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble." While we don't all have big inflatable bubbles surrounding us every day, everyone has a invisible bubble protecting them. And some bubbles are bigger than others. It goes without saying that the world doesn't treat all people equally. When it comes to things like race, sexuality, and gender, society tends to give certain folks an advantage and others a disadvantage. These advantages and disadvantages affect our bubble – either protecting us or putting us at risk. We've put together a quick quiz to help you get to know your bubble. Since everyone's bubble is different, you won't receive a score. But you might learn a thing or two about yourself.
